However, currently we are depleting some of our food sources to extinction... 18% of the global greenhouse gas emissions are attributed to livestock, their byproducts and their feed; much more than the entire emissions of our global transport sector, which level at approximately 13%.

Between now and 2050, the world's pupulation is expected to rise from 7.2 billion to over 9 billion people and our appetite for meat will grow along with it; experts therefore estimate that the demand for meat will increase by another 100% or simply double over those years and there are so many more facts to this fundamental dilemma.

In the end, we are unable to feed the world with high quality meat and we shouldn't even try to do so. It is inevitable, that we have to change our food system in order to fight global warming and all the negative externalities associated with this industry.

Therefore we need to increase the supply of sustainably raised and produced food products, because there is an ever increasing demand for good food, which is already outstripping supply. We have to start to embrace the whole world of ingredient options and healthy meat substitutes.
